Privacy Policy

Updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains how Student Calculator handles information, including optional Google services. The calculators, subject management, attendance, Planner, history and Focus Timer work without enabling usage analytics or crash reporting.

1. Academic data and local storage

Subjects, marks, attendance logs, exams, assignments, class schedules, study sessions, calculation history and preferences are stored on your device. Student Calculator does not operate its own server for your academic records. Records remain until you delete them, replace them through a restore, or clear the app's storage. Android may back up or transfer app data according to your device and Google account settings.

2. Optional backups, sign-in and sharing

If you choose Connect Google Drive, Google handles sign-in and authorization. The app uses your Google account email to display the connected account and requests access to its own private Drive application-data folder, rather than your other Drive files. When you choose Backup Now, the backup includes your academic records and app preferences and is sent to Google Drive using an encrypted HTTPS connection. Restore downloads the saved backup to your device.

Disconnect Account signs out locally; it does not delete your Google account or existing cloud backup. To remove the cloud backup, use Google Drive Settings, Manage Apps, Student Calculator, and delete its hidden app data. Google Drive controls the retention of that backup until you remove it. Student Calculator does not create a separate app account.

Export File saves an unencrypted JSON backup to the location you choose. Image, PDF and other sharing actions send the selected information to the app or recipient you choose. Protect exported files and delete unwanted copies separately; deleting records inside Student Calculator does not delete copies you previously exported or shared.

3. Optional usage analytics and crash reports

Both options are off by default. You can enable or disable each separately in Settings, Privacy choices. Your choices are kept on this device and are excluded from academic backup files.

These services are provided by Google. Data is processed under Google's Privacy Policy and the applicable Firebase service terms and retention settings. We use reports for app improvement and troubleshooting, and retain them only for those purposes under the services' retention and deletion controls.

Turning an option off stops sending future reports for that option. Crash diagnostics may still be temporarily stored on the device by the SDK while reporting is disabled. Turning off usage analytics also resets locally stored analytics data; turning off crash reporting requests deletion of unsent reports. Turning off collection does not erase reports already sent to Google. To ask about previously transmitted data or applicable retention, contact the developer. Do not post private data, device identifiers or academic records in a public support issue.

4. Advertising

Advertising is paused in this release. The Google Mobile Ads SDK is included for future use, but the app does not initialize it or request or display ads. Advertising identifier collection and advertising personalization for Firebase Analytics are disabled. If advertising is enabled in a future release, this policy and the app's consent controls will be updated before ad requests are made.

5. Permissions

The app uses Android's document picker for backup files and does not request broad storage access on Android 10 and later, or access to contacts, location, microphone or camera.

6. Security and your choices

Academic data is stored within the app's Android storage. Optional Google Drive and Firebase communication uses encrypted network connections. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. You control local records, device backups, exported files, cloud backup and optional telemetry separately.

7. Children's privacy

Student Calculator is intended for students aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Advertising is paused and optional telemetry is off by default. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the optional services, contact studentcalc.app@gmail.com so we can investigate and address it.

8. Changes and contact

The date above identifies this version of the policy. The same policy is available offline in Settings, Privacy policy. Changes to data practices will be reflected here.
